Master Mark Shrader trained in Tang Soo Do at Chon’s Karate in 1989 under Grand Master Kwan Ho Chon. Shrader was one of the Grand Master’s first students in the United States. He received his 1st Degree Black Belt in 1993 and currently is a 5th Degree Master Belt since 2011. He has competed in countless karate tournaments from 1990 – present. 

He started kickboxing in 1991 with Gladiators Kickboxing Gym in Butler, PA. He had 9 fights with a 7-2 record and then converted over to boxing in 1992 where he trained with the legend Henry Smith (Michael Moorer’s grandfather). Shrader fought under Henry until Henry retired and Shrader finished with a 24-6 record and a Silver Belt Title Golden Gloves finalist. In 2000, he started training in MMA (mixed martial arts) with Eric Hibler, owner of the Pittsburgh Fight Club. Eric taught him all the tricks of wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu, sharpened his boxing game to covert it over to the cage, and his kicking skills were improved to become an MMA champ.
Shrader has trained with Royce Gracie who he brought in for two seminars. He was chosen to be Roy Jones, Jr.’s sparring partner, currently boxing under George Galis. He attended Wanderlei Silva’s MMA camp in Vegas and Eric Paulson seminars. Shrader has worked with scores of other masters of the Martial Arts and fighters/coaches of all styles of fighting. 

Shrader is a SAG-AFTRA actor card holder who had several fight training scenes in the movie “Warrior” starring Joel Edgerton, Tom Hardy and Nick Nolte. His friend Kurt Angle also filmed his short film, “Waking Up”, at Shrader’s Academy and Shrader played the role of an MMA referee. Shrader’s MMA program was featured in the book "Professor in the Cage" written by Professor Jonathan Gottschall. In addition, Shrader had lots of screen time in the recent movie “Southpaw” starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Rachel McAdams, Forest Whitaker, 50 Cent and several other A list actors.

Chris Faulk is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a Certified Muay Thai Fitness Instructor through the National Exercise and Sport Trainers Association. After finishing his collegiate tennis career at Washington & Jefferson College in 2010, Chris began training in Muay Thai Kickboxing as a means to improve his own personal fitness and develop a new skill set. After two years of self-training he began working with Master Mark Shrader in the technical aspects of boxing, kickboxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Chris also spent a brief period of time working on his Muay Thai skills at Stout Training; Renzo Gracie Jiu Jitsu, Martial Arts and Fitness, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Trained under Mark Shrader himself, Chris brings a deep knowledge of boxing and Muay Thai kickboxing techniques to Shrader’s MMA. As a trainer, he specializes in circuit training and high intensity interval training which has been shown to improve cardio and strength gains at a very fast rate.
Chris is also the Head Coach of Men’s and Women’s Tennis and the Director of Intramural and Club Sports at Washington & Jefferson College and has been in those roles since January, 2012. He has also worked as a heavy bag boxing instructor at SHAPE Training in Pittsburgh, Pa.
